Keep the flies away with the fascinating Venus Fly Trap, or Dionaea Muscipula.

The Venus Fly Trap hails from warm, swamp-like conditions so it should be placed in a cosy, humid spot indoors and kept moist and well-watered. A steamy kitchen or bathroom is an ideal spot for this tropical-looking houseplant.

Although it might seem fun, every time a Venus Fly Trap’s traps are triggered, it loses a little bit of life. Each plant can only be triggered a few times before it begins to die so allow it only to trigger naturally.

If you start to see your Venus Fly Trap’s traps turning black, that means they are beginning to die, but fear not, they will re-generate so don’t give up on it!
