Also known as the Snake's Head Fritillary, Fritillaria meleagris has flowers that are white and pinkish-purple and have a pattern that looks rather like snake's skin. These nodding bells will appear in April and May to bring some late spring colour to your garden. The bulbs can be planted in the autumn, in partial shade or full sun, in beds, borders and containers. This variety will naturalise easily. Fritillaria meleagris holds the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
