Make your own mini wildflower meadow

Make your own mini wildflower meadow

Do something that’s fun for you and kind for the Earth by planting your very own wildflower meadow. It’s easier than you think.

Make your own mini wildflower meadow

What you’ll need:

  • A patch of soil in your garden or a big pot

  • Wildflower seeds (you can get a mix of

    them!)

  • Small shovel

  • A rake

  • A watering jug or spray bottle

Preparing your garden or pot

Step 1:

Find a small, sunny area in your garden or use a big pot filled with soil – wildflowers love sunshine! Pull out any weeds or grass so the wildflowers have lots of room to grow.

Step 2:

Make the soil loose and fluffy by using a rake or your hands. This will help the seeds settle.

Step 3:

Gently sprinkle wildflower seeds over the soil. Press the seeds lightly into the soil with your hands. Don’t bury them too much—they need sunlight.

Step 4:

Use your watering can or spray bottle to give the seeds a gentle drink. Don’t flood them — just a little splash!

Step 5:

Keep an eye on your meadow. If the soil looks dry, water it a little. Flowers take time, so be patient! When the flowers eventually bloom, you’ll see bees, butterflies, and maybe even ladybugs visiting your beautiful wildflower meadow.
