Spring
Spring is when the world wakes up from the long, dark days and nights of winter. Flowers start to bloom, birds begin to sing, and baby animals are born. Spring is for sharing, so it’s a perfect time to pick some flowers and make a beautiful bouquet
Make sure you ask permission before you pick the flowers, but once you have, you can share your colourful collection with a loved one
Summer
Summer is full of sunshine and fun. The days get longer, and it's perfect for playing outside and cooling down with ice cream
The warm weather means you can linger in the garden and have picnics or barbeques with your loved ones
Summer is also a great time to plant a portable herb garden that you can gift to someone special. Herbs are easy to look after and can be used in cooking
Autumn
Autumn is all about change. The leaves start to change colour, the nights get longer, and it the temperature drops
Although it’s lovely to get nice and cosy, it’s also a great time of year to get out into nature and enjoy an autumnal walk
You can forage for pinecones and turn them into a beautiful pine cone wreath that would make a wonderful gift
Winter
Winter feels like a wonderful time – even if it doesn’t snow on Christmas Day. The nights are dark, but there’s nothing quite like the winter sun breaking through on a frosty morning
It’s a time to meet up with loved ones, share gifts, and enjoy time indoors as we wait for spring. You can make Christmas cards with sprigs of holly or small cuttings from pine trees on them; get an adult to help you, and be careful as these can have jagged edges
Handmade cards are always welcome in winter!
