HOW TO MAKE A HANGING BIRD BATH 

Have you started noticing more birds in the trees? It’s one of the first signs that spring is on its way!  If you enjoy birdwatching from the comfort of your armchair, then this simple yet charming garden DIY project is a wonderful twist on a traditional bird bath and ideal for you to build at home. With just a few simple materials and a bit of creativity, you can start welcoming wild birds back into your outdoors.

You will need:

 

  • A multi-purpose plant saucer (be large enough to sit in your hanging basket)

  • Small pebbles or stones

 

Make a hanging bird bath: step-by-step guide

 

  1. Firstly, choose a hanging basket that matches your outdoors

  1. Place in a multi-purpose saucer so it sits halfway in your basket – we've used a 42cm one

  1. Once it’s securely in place, add in a selection of small pebbles or stones

  1. Fill up the saucer with water

  1. Finally, hang on a tree or in your favourite spot in the garden and watch as it attracts some feathered friends!
